Big Nuz affected by Xenophobia

Big Nuz is one group that was meant to be performing a day before independence day in Zimbabwe but due to the Xenophobic attacks, they have cancelled.

It seems like a must to say something about the Xenophobic attacks in South Africa. This act of cruelty has disrupted even the entertainment industry not to mention talks of boycotting the shows that some south African artist are meant to hold.

What that means is that until the Xenophobic attacks have been resolved, artists from South Africa may not perform.

According to media reports, Newzimbabwe.com,  Zimbabweans are angered by the Xenophobic attacks to an extent that there might boycott South African artists shows. Big Nuz has since cancelled their show.

Since Big Nuz released a new album, this was a chance for it to promote their album. This might affect their sales.

Caspher Nyovest however is said to be willing to tour despite the current attacks.

Fantastic 4 resurrects with new cast

Media products are surely unique with one text being turned to several formats. this can be seen from the series movie Harry Potter. One thing that really amazes me is how programs that were successful hit resurrect today.

Fantastic 4 is one movie that was once my favorite program and it makes me excited to know that there will be a second edition.


The original movie according to the wiki synopsis. has the invisible girl Susan "Sue" Storm), who eventually married Reed, who can render herself invisible and later project powerful force fields, fire guy aka Johnny Storm), Sue's younger brother, who can generate flames, rubber man (Reed Richards), a scientific genius and the leader of the group, who can stretch his body into incredible lengths and shapes; and what i like to call the thing (made of stone) the(Susan "Sue" Storm), who eventually married Reed.

However, the coming version will feature different people from the original movie.

Nothing entertains and keeps you on the edge like superhero dramas. I am talking about AGENTS OF SHIELD. if you are not watching it, its time to join the superhero fans and update urself.

its about the hero team that fights against the bad forces in the world that try to bring misfortune and bad ormen. One of the bad guys are Hydra and darn they know how to resurrect.

 Phil Coulson is the main character who was injected by alien stuff and and his team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, who must deal with various unusual cases and enemies, including Hydra and other super natural humans. Other actors incled Sky, Agent May, Bob, Mack, Agent Fitz and Jemma.

And they even feature some Asgadians such as lady SITH.

The latest movie fast and the furious 7 has scooped more than 60million from the Canada and USA box office and has made $800million international. I bet it would have made more if people around the globe weren't pirating.

 Because of its popularity and great turnout, fast and the furious 7 is showing 14 times at the Hollyhood Archlight. i think playing it so much will surely gross people out.

The new series movie is number 1 in about  66 countries including China. Maybe the next thing would be to see China's own Fast and Furious.

This is a mixture of some of my favourite fairytale character and its coined to be a musical where the characters such as Cinderella (one of the Pitch Perfect main characters), and Rapunzel. Into the woods  characters are joined together by a bakers family whose need for a baby require them to go on a hunt for Cinderella's shoe, Jack cow,little red riding hoods coat and yellow hair.

Producers have a way of getting their production out to the people through the use of content and titles that they are familiar with. It is often said that human beings are creatures of habit, even Peter a character in Teenwolf said the statement once. This is how I got interested in watching Pinocchio. One would assume the series is based on a fictional character and the prontagonist of the children's novel.

Pinnochio produced by Park Hye Ryun is based on a condition called pinnochio where one can never tell a lie or hide how they truly feel about a subject. If they tell a lie, they hiccup.

Dance, A Message Deliverer

Dance is a way of life, a talent and way of expression. Sometimes where words are not enough to express how one feel or how one want things do be understood, dance can be the way do do it and send a clear message to those it is suppose to reach.

The Super Geeks The Genesis have their way of expression and they are really good at it. They dance to minister to the people about God. Gone are the days where preaching is enough to spread the word, dance is another way. They believe that they can change the world through dance which they call "Visual speech linguists". The group comprises of Nigel Christnificent, David Cooper, Nkosi Tyler, Midiah M avawani and Pasha Titan from Cowdry Park.

The Super Geeks from Bulawayo performed at the Jibilika Cypher performance center, wher youth come together and showcase their talent. They also battle with Antivirus in Bulawayo Theatre during Miss Professional.

Sometimes when you watch a dance movie on television, you may have doubts of whether the movements are real but seeing it live just makes you appreciate it even more.

TEENWOLF 5 Coming Soon

Supernatural serial programs have been for quite some time calling and getting more of an audience. I am one of the many people who love to sit in front of the screen and be lost in fictional movies and series program.

Teenwolf, from a list of Vampire diaries, Supernatural to mention but a few has made me an obedient follower. Like the other top sellers, Teenwolf manages to bring out new and very fascinating characters and monsters that keep you glued and on the edge. 

From season one to season 4, Teenwolf has managed to improve in all aspects, although some characters we had grown to love did not stare in all seasons, some managesd to resurrect for example KATE. Season 5 will have all our major characters coming. Dereck aka Tyler Hoechlin however will not be oftenly seen on screen. TEENWOLF will have 20episodes which is a bonus from the previous 12 episodes.

5 Things I expect from season 5

1.We have to be introduced to the desert wolf because everyone has been searching for HER. yes it is a      she.

2. Malia and Stiles must have more romantic scenes because they look cut together.

3. We should see how powerful Derek has become especially now that he can transform into an actual wolf.

4. What is going to happen to Peter?

5. Kate must face the consequences of trying to destroy the True Alpha.

EMPIRE 2015

The Lyons

If you havent started watching Empire, you are missing out especially those who love family drama and learning more about how black communities in different classes are said to live. The first time I started watching it, I thought one of the theme song would be

Jay Z and Alicia Keys song Empire New state. The series features  Terrence Howard and Taraji P Henson as Lucious and Cookie respectively.

There are so many reasons why you should be watching Empire 2015. it has so much drama, intrigue, characters you will grow to love. It has several themes which include love, power and so much more that will get you glued to the screens. For those who havent heard about it, its based on the Lyon family which comprises of Cookie, Lucious, Hakeem, Jamal and Andre. Empire is about a business tycoon who is only left with at most 3 years to live and he want to make one of his son amongst 3 to take over before he dies.the mother of the 3 sons has just been released from prison and she finds her children all grown up and that his family is drowning in wealth.

Terrence Howard

He is a self loving former drug dealer and now the CEO of Empire Entertainment. His  life begins to change after he was diognised with ALS. He has a fiancé namedAnika, but his ex-wife, Cookie, is not happy about it so she intends on tearing them apart.

Cookie

Taraji P Henson

Lucious' outspoken ex-wife and mother of his three sons, who served a 17-year
sentence in prison for drug dealing. She also helped build Empire Entertainment with the drug money that she got from dealing. Upon her return from prison she is determined to bring the Lyon family back together and get all that she thinks she deserves.

Andre

The eldest son of the Lyon family and CFO of Empire Entertainment. He is an educated, power hungry and suffers from bipolar disorder. He plans to run Empire, but is in a battle for the head chair with his younger brothers.

Jamal

He is the second eldest son but the least favorite son of Lucious because he is gay. He is talented and wants to prove that he can be the next CEO and he seems to be cookies favorite son.

Hakeem

The last son of Lucious and Cookie. he is very talented but very insecure about himself being better that his brother. He loves the company of women and he is even in a relationship with a cougar.

SOLAR POWERED PLANE A REALITY

We live in a generation where inventions and technology advances on a daily basis. If you close your eyes for a minute, you might actually miss out on some of the coolest invention that have ever been made. and the best one yet is the plane that flies purely on solar energy. 

Now how cool is that. although technically it was first thought of in 2012, several test drives have been performed and so far, it has been a success.

The solar powered plane will be a break through for the world at large because it will only run on the most natural source of power, the sun. People may have a question on whether the plane will be able to fly if there is cloud cover. Yes it can, the panel absorbs and stores the energy allowing it to fly even at night.

The solar plane that has been taken for a test drive or is it test flight can only carry two passengers. this may be a disappointment to those who may be interested in flying in one. So far we can only experience the flight through the two pilots who recently took it for a spin.

The aircraft recently landed in Oman and in it was a businessman and pilot Andre Borschberg and Piccard.

DOROBUCCI crew the next best crew

,D Prince,Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage and Dr Sid

Nothing beats the product of collaboration. The song dorobucci has been played oftenly on radio since last year and it continues to be the most played song in most teenage parties in Zimbabwe. The song came to being after a 7 members of the Mavins crew came together and I must say their collabo was quite a success.

The success of the song can be also compared to the success o some of the most popular crews for instance young money. Young money comprises of one of the best artists in the music business and Mavins crew also comprises of one of the best African artists(Nigeria). The crew is said to be led by Don Jazzy who features with P-Squared in the song 'Collabo'. That video is definately something.

Over the years members of the dorobucci crew have made quite a reputation in the music business with some even being nominated for awards in different Awards. Tiwa Savage also known as Tiwatope Savage Balogun for instance was nominated in 2014 for the BET Awards and one MTV Africa Awards. 

The Dorobucci crew comprises of Don Jazzy a music producer and also a singer, Tiwa Savage who is the current Nigerian RnB queen. Jazzy and Savage produced several songs together, including Eminado which was a hit last year. Charles Enebeli also known as D prince Don Jazzy's young brother. Dr Sid and yes he is a doctor and he particularly a certified dentist, Reekado Banks, Di Ja who signed with Mavins in 2013 and Korede Bello also nicknamed the 'African Prince'. 

What makes Korean drama so unique.

From the moment I started watching Korean drama K culture, I had a reason to stay glued on and become a loyal follower. The main reason being their ability to entertain and also give a full insight of their culture and way of life.

This is in reference to the cultural Korean drama that they air oftenly. Their modern themed dramas are also entertaining. Even if I am not any close to speaking a full sentence in Korean, my personal favourite word that I do not miss a chance of including in my sentences once in a while. 'AIGOO'

Even if the world is generally prefers to broadcast in English, all the Korean dramas i have watched have been in their language and that sets them apart from the rest.

Sungkyunkwan Scandal

Culture nowadays has been globalised but to see  nation that takes pride in theirs even until today is really refreshing. Most cultural practices have diverged and the world almost has the same practices. But their ability to capture the cultural set up and make it understandable to foreigners is really out of the ordinary.

Its amazing how much a girl can be transformed to look like a guy. The scandal in this movie is that a girl enrolled herself in a boys institution. It had me fooled the first time I saw that character. This drama highlights the struggle of women to be empowered in the community and it clearly sends a message that what a man can do a woman can do.


Jewel in the Palace 
This is one of the longest Korean dramas I have ever watched. I loved how 'Dang Jung Geum' always pushed through with the challenges she faced. Definately empowering for ladies.

50 Shades of Grey censored in Zimbabwe

If a movie has some scenes censored then it means there is little or no educational value contained in it especially what the country stands for.

 Fifty shades of grey has been banned in several countries including Kenya maybe because of the erotic scenes in it.

After the movie 50 shades of grey premiered at Ster Kinekor in Harare, the erotic scenes in it are said to have led to its ban. however, it is said that the movie was not banned by Censorship Board of Zimbabwe but not allowed to be screened in its original form.

The movie is based on a 2011 novel by British Author E.L. James' best-seller gets the big screen treatment with this Universal Pictures/Focus Features co-production. The Mbira

Listening to the songs by Thomas Mapfumo and Katyo mbira band has made me appreciate the uniqueness of the cultural instrument called the Mbira.

 The Mbira is dated back to the time of the Great Zimbabwe where the Shona people are said to have originated from. It is a cultural instrument closely linked to the traditional music of the Shona people.

It is believed that the Mbira was mostly played during a spiritual possession ceremony where a special song was selected to welcome the deceased persons spirit back to the family.

Today the instrument is used by some Zimbabwean artists for its unique tune and to revive the African tradition and originality. It is played by others to tell their story or just folk tales for example Ephat Mujuru, a Mbira master. It is said to be an extension of the people.

Many may be curious about how the instrument is played. The Mbira is made out of a sound board where metal keys are attached. When playing the Mbira you use your left and right thumbs. Since the metal keys are of different lengths, the metals vibrate at different frequencies producing different sounds. A combination of multiple taping of the keys will result in a melody. Some may say its played like a piano or a keyboard.


The Mbira like the Marimba should be taught in schools as a way of preserving the cultural tradition.

PENTATONIX

The music industry has lately been buzzing with a lot of new releases and i must say the listeners and lovers of music always have something new to look forward to. I am fascinated by the remarkable rise of acapella and the mix with beat boxing is amazing.


The Pentatonix are my own personal favorite. From the time they won in the Sing off, their work is commendable and keeps me amazed every time they sing.

Their groups 2nd album "That's Christmas to me" has  debuted  number 9 on Billboard's Top 200 chart and is currently number1 on its Holiday Chart.in an industry were there is so much talent and so competitive they surely deserve it.

My personal favorites in the album are;

SUPPORT ZIM ART INDUSTRY

The arts industry in Zimbabwe has been slowly growing with several incentives to promote the few known talent left in Zimbabwe. These have been promoted through the National Arts Merit Awards which were held on the 14th of this month.

In Zimbabwe there are no fixed structures that can help promote the growth of our entertainment industry. Most of the talent migrates to other countries that have a more establish structure. For example Oscar also know as Oskido is now well recognised in South Africa.

Zimbabwe has a mine of talented individuals yet there is no feasible structure that can nurture the talent. If there was a school funded by the government to supports the industry, positive change and a level of proffessionalism could be witnessed.

The breaking down of the Ministry of Education Sports Arts and Culture is a positive step towards promoting and ensuring more attention is directed and invested into the Entertainment.one plausible example is Nigeria that has a funding towards the movie industry.

The growth of the entertainment industry can be made possible if the Zimbabweans themselves support their artists. The artists can also work and nurture their talent so they may be competent and relevant to their audiences.

Commercialising valentines day

It has been a week since people celebrated Valentine's day. A day were people celebrate and share love, friendship and affection for each other. This is done through sharing of gifts cards and roses.

Although most nations recognise this day, it is not a public holiday. In Zimbabwe and other nations, people still carry on with their activities like going to work and even attending school lessons. With this in mind, valentines day celebration is a cultural activity and a commercial strategy. Commercially, it has become a brand were manufacturers and retailers make more profits using love as a target. Love is like air we breath in daily, so celebrating it once a year is not enough. This implies that valentine's day is more sales and profits than it is about celebrating, love, and friendship.

For the past few weeks, shops and pharmacies were decorated with several valentine's gifts and vouchers ready for sale. There sure is alot of profit retained from the valentines week.

A week after valentines day, the decorations and gift vouchers disappear from display as if signifying that love has passed by, only to be seen the next year. lets spread our love and friendship every year long and not wait for the 14th of February.

The Zimbabwean Fashion week to be held in the month of July will prove that indeed the Zimbabwe nation has its own hub of talent especially in embracing its cultural taste.

The showcasing of Zimbabwean designers will surely broaden the horizon for fashion designers and create a new market considering the slow acceptance of the Zimbabwean products. This event will help Zimbabwean designer to even match up to the international standard.

The fashion week will be a positive event that will boost the confidence of Zimbabweans towards their own fashion industries.

Zimbabwe is currently facing a crisis of more imports than exports even clothing. This has led to the closing down of other fashion industries. The fashion week event to be held in London will put Zimbabwean designers in the spotlight.
